I thought I would start a thread here about some Harry Potter predictions. I don't want to run something with a lot of spoilers over at the big site. Read on to hear my thoughts.
So basically we've seen some serious development in the characters over the last couple books. Harry, Hermione and Ron are all becoming confused teenagers. Here's some things I see happening:
1) Hermione and Ron. Rowling's been teasing it forever. I think it will actually happen in the next book.
2) Malfoy. I think Rowling could go two opposite ways with Malfoy. Either he will avenge his father's arrest by attacking Harry in the near future or possibly even becoming a Death Eater himself, or he will see the error of his ways and join forces with the D.A.. I would at least expect to see one or more Slytherins in the D.A. next book becuase of the Sorting Hat talking about the necessity for the houses to be united. Another interesting thing to ponder is what Dumbledore will do about the children of known Death Eaters. Will they be allowed at Hogwarts?
These are just a couple things. I'm tired, so I'll continue later.
Hey back to the LV and Dumby thing being the same person, it can't be true coz "Dumble's the only thing LV was scared of" and if they were the same Hagrid wood no, he'd have to be in with it too coz in Harry Potter land, if someones bad and Harry doesn't get sus. they're not bad, Harry always no's evry thing. With the possible exception of Quirrel. And in no. 1 why didn't Dumble leave Harry in the trapdoor to die. JK wouldn't just throw in "By the way Dumble's evil!!" Ya no? Lv Sara. My Questions and possible answers for future books.

What will happen with Grawp?
What will happen with Percy?
What will happen with Buckbeak?
What will happen to the DA?
What will happen to the Death Eaters?
What will happen to Draco and the other Death Eater offspring?
--- Questions with some possible answers ---
What will happen with Neville? I think he may aspire to be a healer so he can cure his parents. Or now that the he's in the DA he may aspire to be an Auror like his parents.
What will happen with Luna? Will she play a prominent part in future books? If she does I think she and Neville will hook up. They have a lot in common (always being picked on), they were in the DA together, and they went through a lot together at the end of book 5.
Will Ron and Hermione ever get together? I think Hermione might have to make the first move. If she does, Ron may confide in Harry what she did and Harry may have to convince Ron to go for it. Ron can be so clueless sometimes. I admire that in him. I like Harry's thought on page 658 of book 5 - "Harry was reminded irresistibly of Mrs. Weasley appealing to her husband during Harry's first dinner in Grimmauld Place."
How many O.W.L.s will each of the Big Three get? Hermione probably gets Outstanding on all of hers with the possible exception of Astronomy. With the interuption she may have not done as well and only received an E. Harry probably gets O in DADA and possibly Potions (only if he is supposed to continue in Snape's class in order to be an Auror). He may get an O or E in Charms. I don't know about the rest. I haven't a clue with Ron.
Will Harry and Ginny get together? Although some people don't think they will end up together, I do. One of the reasons I thought Sirius would die is because I thought that Harry was not supposed to have any family. His parents were killed. We haven't heard of any Grandparents or Aunts or Uncles or Cousins (besides the obvious ones that he doesn't like)that are still living (maybe the mark evans thing that I haven't looked up yet and didn't catch the one time I read book 5). Now any family that Harry may have would be family he makes for himself. He already thinks of the Weasleys as family. I don't think that Harry looks at Ginny as a sister as much as he thinks of her as Ron's sister. He never thought of the twins as brothers. I think that with all the death and heartbreak in his life, marrying Ginny and being a real part of the Weasley family would be the only way to end it. He would still be close to Ron and Hermione, who would also get married. It may end differently but I don't know how.
--- Various predictions ---
What will happen in the next two summers? Something fun has to take place. I think a wizard wedding would be a cool thing to see. Since Bill and Fleur (page 70) may be getting along rather swimmingly, they may get married in the summer before year 7. This may have some funny result with Ron surrounded by Veela. It will take place somewhere in France. Imagine if Harry sees Ginny all dressed up and falls for her then.
When Harry was being attacked by the Dementors he lost his wand. He said "Lumos," and his wand worked even though it was inches from his hand. I think this might come into play in the future. It would be nice to have use of your wand with out it in your hand. Imagine if someone were pointing Harry's wand at Harry. He may be able to say a countercurse to free himself and it will come out of his wand at him.

Sorry for the super-long first post. I guess I should introduce myself. Like Futurea, Roaldo is not my real name, just a name I saw once and thought was nifty. I thought of following her lead and putting an "a" after "past" instead of "future" but that would be "pasta" and I figured that people would just think I was Italian or just protesting the Atkins Diet. So I'm left with Roaldo.
I have a huge prodiction that I have never seen on any of the prediction pages. I have told my close friends but they don't believe it. I want to check more internet sites before I put it out there. I would actually like to ask JKR herself because it would change how people read the books. I wonder how I could write to her?

Hey Futurea, Roaldo and Tash, it's Sara, You're right Tash, Cho is an idiot, she's such a loser, and she cries after a boyfriend died, and tries to talk about it with Harry, he's had his mum and dad, and Sirius die, Cho is so clueless thinking that she could talk about it in front of Harry when he might not want to, her not giving him a choice, if he wants to talk or not, and he's been thru a hell of a lot more than Cho,

About the OWL's thing, Harry probably gets ok marks, but in the book it sounds like he's not sure that he did too well. I think Ron will be an Auror, coz Ron's life is just starting to get beta, with the prefect?keeper thing, Harry won't get it, but guys, wot's gonna happen to Harry on the Quidditch team, I know Ginny said she'd be chaser, but? It'd be a shame if he wasn't onn the team coz James woz, Who will get the House Quidditch captain, Ron or Harry??? Plz help I don't no who!!

I think Harry will get the Quidditch Captian 'cause Rons helpped them win one game but Harry haas won HEAPS!!!

Cho should die and Harrry should be happy,... well not happy but, Hermione should keep seeing if he's ok and he'll get fiesty and the'll have a fight, Ron will be on Herms side but won't go out with him. Wot about Krum guys? Harry and luna sooooooo should go out, I'l kill JK if they don't.

I guess when you make predictions, you've got to back them up, so I'll try.
Futurea had two questions for me. I only saw one, but I think she got interrupted. So I will try to answer the "Why do you think everyones going to get married for one thing Bill and Veela-girl?!" question.
In each book, some thing or things happen in the summer. I tried to think of possible events that could take place. I would like to have predicted a QWC (Quidditch World Cup) a few books ago, but there's no way I could. So I am left with things that I can imagine. The QWC gave me an idea though. There is a soccer World Cup so JKR made a wizard version. What other muggle events could she throw a wizard "spin" on? Well, the best thing I could come up with would be a wedding.
On a side note, I did not mean to imply that Harry or any of the others his age would marry during or right after their days at Hogwarts. I had heard that JKR would not be writing any books involving Harry after these seven books. Therefore I assume that the last few chapters of the seventh book will be spent "tidying up" the lives of the main characters. I assume that we will learn what happens to them all - if and/or whom they marry; if they have kids; what their careers will be; when and how they die; etc. So my prediction of Ron and Hermione marrying and Harry and Ginny marrying should take place in the "last few chapters" part of book seven. Sorry for that confusion.
Back to the wedding idea. I figured that the Big Three (Harry, Hermione, and Ron) would all be too young for marriage in the next two summers so I had to think of someone else. JKR is known for dropping small clues that become large deals later so I took the conversation on page 70 of OotP about Bill getting "compensations" and giving Fleur "a lot of private lessons" as a possible (but certainly not definite) couple to get married at the beginning of the sixth or more probably the seventh book. I really liked the idea of a wizarding-world wedding (is that what www stards for? Tee hee.) and I couldn't think of anyone else who could get married and invite the Big Three so I am left with Fleur and Bill.
I realize that Bill and Fleur are not central characters, but the wedding gives so many possibilities for JKR to have fun writing that I think it is possible.
I'm sure I left things out and may have implied things that I didn't mean to imply again, but I can't help that. I welcome any criticism.

Welcome to the site, me and Futurea have been here for ages. Clever thinking about the wedding, I don't know about Hermione and Ron, Harry and Luna should go out but my friend doesn't think so. I do, anyway, I like the idea of Harry and Luna. POOR THING THEY BOTH LOST FAMILY MEMBERS. And their family was torn apart. I think they understand the pain eachother is going thru.

Well im betting that now that the MoM belives harry. Harry will be able to tell them the names of the death eaters and BAM! TO AZKABAN THEY GO!!!

More explanation about previously mentioned predictions.
Luna. I think JKR strongly hinted that Luna was interested in Ron. I don't think that she and Harry will "end up together" although they might try dating. Harry might date her because they have a lot in common and she might date him to attract the eye of Ron. I do think that she will "end up with" Neville. There has been some suggestion that he and Ginny will end up together but I think she and Harry will. I will explain more later. Someone said that JKR stated that someone will switch houses. I agree that the likely person will be Luna switching to Gryffindor. That way she can be closer to Ron and maybe people would be nicer to her. I also can't think of any reason anyone else would want to switch. Unless this mysterious Mark Evans person ...
Cho. I don't think she will be a big part of the next two books. I think Harry is "over her" and she has served her purpose. About her crying and moaning to Harry about Cedric in the fifth book, I think there was a purpose behind it. The last person to see Cedric alive was Harry. She was in love with Cedric. It makes sense that she would talk to Harry about him. She's looking for closure.
Neville. I think that Neville would want to cure his parents much more than he would want to avenge them. Therefore, I think he will become a healer sometime after graduation. If I remember correctly, one has to be outstanding in Potions as well as Herbology. So I think Neville will tough out two more grueling years of Snape torment. More on Snape later.
Ginny. I think she will become a larger part of the story lines in the next two books. This is due mostly to the idea that she and Harry will end up together. I also think that she can be a strong character.
Ron. There are two reasons why I don't like the idea that some have put forth that Ron will die during the next two years. First, I don't want him to die! Second, it doesn't fit in with the idea that I believe that Ron and Hermione will end up together. As for his career after Hogwarts, I only have one idea. More on it later.
Hermione. Besides the idea that she and Ron will end up together, I have no idea what she will end up doing. No idea at all.
Harry. I think Harry and Ginny will end up together as stated before. For storyline purposes, I think Harry will take Potions and maybe sit next to Neville. If Harry doesn't take Potions, JKR will have to find someone else besides Snape to torment Harry. That seems to be one of the many themes of the books - Harry is tormented by some professor or professors, he has no family he can count on, and he gets by with a little help from his friends. I don't know what Harry will do after Hogwarts though. I would like to think that he doesn't die in a final battle with Voldy, though. That is unless he only dies for a moment and then comes back to life (Charge to 300! CLEAR!) as someone has predicted. Maybe he will become a professional writer and write seven books about his seven years at Hogwarts!
Snape. I read somewhere that if you rearrange the letters in Severus Snape you get Perseus Evans. So maybe Snape is related to Lily and therefore Harry (maybe brother and uncle, respectively). Who knows? Maybe that means Mark Evans is Snape's son or something. Who knows? I haven't read enough other boards to see what other people think about that stuff. Anyway my thoughts about Snape are based upon personal experience. I had at least one or two professors who were pretty heartless when I was an undergrad. But when I graduated, their whole demeanor changed. I guess after I graduated, I had proven myself or something and now I was somewhat more on their level so they treated me much better. Either that or they were just glad to get rid of me. I don't know. Using this knowledge leads me to think that Snape will turn out to be a much better person after they graduate. If he is related to Harry, maybe he will finally be nice to Harry and that will make it clear why he always tried to save Harry from trouble even though it didn't appear that way to the Big Three (i.e. the countercurse on the broom in book 1). Also Snape has to be mean to Harry and Neville while they are his students because they have to grow up to be tough and coddling them won't help. That and the Slytherin vs. Griffindor thing.
Someone said that JKR stated that a student will become a professor and it is not who we think. Or something like that. What about Ron? With all the stuff he is learning from Harry about fighting the Dark Arts maybe he could become the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor sometime after graduation. Just a guess.
I'll write more about my ideas for the summer wedding, as well as which important character I think will be killed in the next book. Unless I am writing too much and I will stop.

I would love it if Mrs. Dursley suddenly started getting magical abilities! Imagine if she were arguing with Mr. Dursley and all of a sudden she sets his hair to smoking. Or all her mean thoughts about the neighbors start happening. She would have to hide it of course, but it could be hilarious!

Hey guys. brendoman here. I'm really glad you guys are getting so much use out of a blog I can't even post to anymore. This is quite an interesting conversation! BUT whoever said LOTR is a wannabe HP needs to read both books a lot more. They are very different. Rowling willingly admits she was inspired by Tolkien. So no more LOTR bashing please. It's okay to love both. I do.
